How do I see what's on my clipboard?

Copy something, come back to this page and press ⌘V (Ctrl+V on Windows). Every format on the clipboard is listed with its size and a preview. On iPhone and iPad, tap Read clipboard.

Why does one copy hold several formats?

The app you copy from offers the same content in several formats at once, for example plain text, HTML and RTF. The app you paste into picks the richest one it understands. That's why the same copy can paste with formatting in one app and as plain text in another.

Is my clipboard sent anywhere?

No. The page only reads the clipboard when you paste or tap Read clipboard, shows it in your browser and keeps nothing. Reload the page and it's gone. Pasted HTML is previewed without running scripts or loading anything from the web.

Why don't I see every format my Mac has?

Browsers only hand web formats to a page: plain text, HTML, RTF in some browsers, links, images and files. Formats only Mac apps use, like Figma's or Sketch's own data, stay hidden. Snippet, as a Mac app, sees them all.
