About ScoutRoute
In one sentence
ScoutRoute is a motorcycle GPS for iPhone: it plans twisty routes, guides riders turn by turn through their helmet intercom, and starts group rides anyone can join by QR code, without an account.
Longer
ScoutRoute plans routes the way riders like them. For the whole route or for each section, riders pick Fast, No Motorways or Twisty. Twisty tries the roads nearby and picks the curviest one that takes at most twice as long, skipping private, restricted and unpaved roads. Every route gets a curviness rating, from Straight to Twisty.
On the road, turn-by-turn voice prompts play through the rider's helmet intercom or Bluetooth headset, timed to their speed, while a 3D view follows the road. Rain Watch checks the forecast along the next 120 km for when the rider gets there, and a tap on the pump shows gas stations along the route ahead.
Group rides need no sign-up: one rider starts the ride and the others join by scanning a QR code or opening a link. Everyone appears live on one map, positions are end-to-end encrypted, and requests like Pull Over or Need Fuel are spoken aloud to every rider who is navigating. Routes can be shared the same way, packed into the link or QR code itself, and recorded rides export as GPX files.
