My badge doesn't turn around on the lanyard

Make sure your phone really hangs upside down, with its top pointing to the floor, and that Badgey is open. Badgey doesn't react while you're editing a badge. If it still stays put, check that Motion & Fitness is allowed for Badgey in Settings → Privacy & Security.

It doesn't notice my pocket

Pocket mode needs the camera: allow Camera access for Badgey in Settings. Slide the phone into the pocket top first, screen facing out, so the front camera sees the inside of the pocket. It takes a moment to be sure.

The badge swings too much

Turn Swing off above your badges and it hangs still. With Reduce Motion turned on in iOS, it doesn't swing either.

The QR button is missing

The QR button only appears on badges with a link. Tap Edit, type your website, portfolio or profile into the link field, and tap Done.

What does Badgey actually do?

It turns your iPhone into a name badge. Add a photo, your name, your role and a link. Hang the phone upside down on a lanyard and the badge turns to face the people in front of you. Slip it into a chest pocket and it shrinks to a strip, so your name shows above the edge.

How does it know it's on a lanyard?

The motion sensors notice when your phone is upside down. The badge then turns the right way round and a lanyard drops in, in the colour you picked. This part doesn't use the camera.

And how does it know it's in my pocket?

When the phone turns upside down, or moves while it hangs, the front camera takes a short look: a few seconds at most. A model on your iPhone decides whether it sees the inside of a pocket. The frames are never stored and never leave your phone.

Can I stop the badge from swinging?

Yes. Turn Swing off above your badges and it hangs still. With Reduce Motion turned on in iOS, it doesn't swing either.

Can I have more than one badge?

Yes. Keep one for work, one for the conference you speak at and one for the meetup you help out at, then swipe between them and wear whichever fits the day.

How does the QR code work?

Add a link to your website, portfolio or profile. Tap the QR button and your badge flips over to a QR code that anyone can scan with their phone's camera.

Will my screen turn off while I wear it?

No. The screen stays awake while Badgey is open.

Do I need an account?

No. Your badges and photos are stored on your iPhone.

Requirements

iPhone or iPad with iOS 26 or later. Pocket detection uses the front camera; lanyard mode works without it. Badgey needs no account.
